| Tuesday, 3 December, 2002, 14:13 GMT Vale fans confirm offer The fans' group bidding to buy Port Vale are prepared to purchase all of the shares put up for sale by chairman Bill Bell - if it will clear the cash-strapped club's debts. Valiant 2001 representative Bill Bratt told BBC Radio Stoke: "We've put in an offer based on information the chairman released to the media - that selling his shares would clear the club's debt. " Bell announced his decision to offer fans shares at 10 apiece, purchased in multiples of 5,000, last month. "I'm hoping for an immediate response as this will lead to the club clearing its worrying debts, enabling it to go forward," he said. Valiant 2001 had previously failed to buy Bell out with an offer of 1m in 2001. |
