The Hungarians beat Croatia Zagreb on the away goals rule after their second round tie ended 2-2 on aggregate. BBC1 will screen live and exclusive coverage of both home and away legs of Manchester United's Champions League qualifiers. The first leg will be away to Zalaegerszeg of Hungary on Wednesday, 14 August with kick-off at 1945 BST. The game is set to be transferred to Budapest's famous Nep Stadium because Zala are unable to play the match on their own home ground because of renovation work. The second leg at Old Trafford will be played on Tuesday, 27 August with kick-off at 2010 BST. The BBC's director of Sports Rights and Finance, Dominic Coles, said: "Following the drama and the excitement of the World Cup, Manchester United's games will be an early chance to see some of England's World Cup heroes back on the pitch before the football season gets into full swing." United will be desperate to knock out their opponents from Hungary to guarantee themselves a place in Champions League first round group phase. Celtic will play FC Basel of Switzerland after they overcame MSK Zilina of Slovakia 3-1 on aggregate. |
