Hibs to miss Wiss
Hibernian midfielder Jarkko Wiss has been sidelined by a knee injury sustained in Sunday's abandoned game at Dundee.

The Finland international landed awkwardly after jumping for a header before a blizzard cut short the BBC Scotland televised clash.

It is not known how long he is expected to be sidelined but it is thought to be weeks rather than days.

The 30-year-old former Stockport player has been a mainstay for Hibs this season and a reshuffle will be required from boss Bobby Williamson for the trip to Motherwell on Saturday.

Hibs will also be without defender Gary Smith, who is suspended following his recent sending-off against Rangers.

Meanwhile, the Easter Road club have revealed that Cardiff City made an enquiry about Scotland under-21 captain Ian Murray.

The ambitious Nationwide Division Two club were poised to make a bid during the transfer window but were quickly rebuffed.

A Hibs spokesman said: "Cardiff City asked about the availability of Ian Murray and were told the interest wasn't welcome.

"Our response was put in such terms that the matter didn't reach a concrete bid.

"Ian has two-and-a-half years on his current deal and is integral to the future of the club."
