Dismissal angers Babayaro
Bolton's Henrik Pedersen scores the opening goal in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea
Henrik Pedersen gave Bolton the lead
Chelsea defender Celestine Babayaro claimed he was the victim of an injustice after being sent off against Bolton.

The Nigerian international was dismissed by referee Mike Dean in the 1-1 draw after an incident that left Bolton striker Youri Djorkaeff on the floor.

We are absolutely gutted

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce

"Babayaro says it wasn't intentional that the Bolton player was injured," said Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri. " It was an accident.

"I didn't see it at the time as I was talking to Mario Stanic on the bench.

Minutes earlier Bolton defender Paul Warhurst had incensed Gianfranco Zola with an aerial challenge.

"I know about the challenge on Zola but I believe in the referee and linesmen," added Ranieri. "I say nothing about them, I accept their rules."

Babayaro's straight red card in the 77th minute came after Chelsea had fallen behind to a goal from Henrik Pedersen.

But Chelsea retaliated and claimed a point thanks to a goal on the stroke of full-time by substitute Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

"When you have players like Hasselbaink, Zola and Eidur Gudjohnsen you believe you can score," said Ranieri.

Babayaro says his challenge was not intentional

"What I can't understand is why Bolton are near the foot of the table. They have so many skilful players."

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce was more concerned as to how his side had let slip two points.

"We had only one minute to go to do our job correctly and it is so disappointing to finish like this.

"We had the chances to finish Chelsea off and get that crucial second goal.

"Then to compound it we failed to take the initiative and backed off them and they got the equaliser.

"Zola got the room and picked out Hasselbaink with a ball that's right on his head. We are absolutely gutted."
