| Thursday, 13 February, 2003, 00:34 GMT Macclesfield 1-3 Swansea Swansea City moved off the bottom of the Football League for the first time since Boxing Day with a superb display at Macclesfield Town. The Swans should have been two goals up in the first 15 minutes, James Thomas and Lenny Johnrose both spurning simple chances. The visitors took the lead after 40 minutes when Steve Watkin sent a looping header over helpless Steve Wilson from six yards. Macclesfield responded on the stroke of half-time when Swans centre-half Kris O'Leary could only hoof a Chris Priest cross into his own net. The visitors took the game by the scruff of the neck in the 53rd minute when skipper Jason Smith netted a far-post header. And they secured the points in the 68th minute when new signing Roberto Martinez scored his first goal for the club with a 25-yard cracker. Macclesfield: Wilson, Welch, Tinson, Macauley, Adams, Nash, Smith, Dunning, Priest, Ross, Lightbourne. Subs: Martin, Abbey, Munroe, Eaton, Robinson.
