| Tuesday, 11 February, 2003, 23:23 GMT Boston 1-0 Scunthorpe A stoppage time winner from Richard Logan gave Boston a much-needed victory at the expense of Scunthorpe. The striker powered home a bullet header three minutes into stoppage time from a Tom Bennett cross to break the deadlock. The result boosted Boston's chances of escaping relegation and dealt a blow to Scunthorpe's promotion hopes. The visitors also had Cliff Byrne sent off in the 57th minute for a lunge on Mark Greaves to add to their misery. The first half had seen Boston generally the dominant force in attack with Scunthorpe having to defend well to repel them. The Pilgrims forced a series of early corners and there were close calls from Logan, Neil Redfearn and Simon Weatherstone - the latter seeing his shot bounce away off the underside of the bar. Scunthorpe reserved their best moments for the start of the second half, with home keeper Paul Bastock saving well from Martin Carruthers and Andy Dawson. Boston Utd: Bastock, McCarthy, Hocking, Balmer, Chapman, Simon Weatherstone, Greaves, Redfearn, Angel, Duffield, Logan. Subs: Conroy, Bennett, Gould, Town, Douglas.
