Yekini scores on debut
Rashidi Yekini and Argentina
Yekini's finest hour - at the World Cup USA '94
Rashidi Yekini, the man known as the "goals father", has marked his return to the Nigerian league with a goal for Julius Berger.

His side beat Kano Pillars 2-1 at home in Abeokuta on Saturday in what was a dream start for the former Super Eagle.

I always want to score in every match here

All three goals game from penalties, with Yekini getting the equaliser after Pillars had gone ahead.

The former African Footballer of the Year, who is now 40, was a little slower than in his earlier days, but the fans were pleased with his performance for the 63 minutes he was on the pitch.

And Berger's coach, Fatai Amao, said he thought Yekini would only get better as the season goes on.

"It is good to see him score on his return. It will boost his morale and he can only improve," the coach said.

After the game Yekini said his hunger for goals was as strong as ever.

"I don't think any striker will ever get tired of scoring. I always want to score in every match," he said.
