Egypt claim third youth crown
Egypt with the Under-20 Nations Cup
It was the third time Egypt had taken the trophy

Under-20 Nations Cup final:
Egypt 4-3 Ivory Coast (after extra time)

Ibrahim Emad was Egypt's hero as the young Pharaohs claimed the Under-20 Nations Cup for the third time with a 4-3 win over Ivory Coast.

The striker, who has been one of the stars of the tournament so far, scored the winner in extra time after the two sides had been deadlocked throughout the second half.

Winners
1979 - Algeria
1981 - Egypt
1983 - Nigeria
1985 - Nigeria
1987 - Nigeria
1989 - Nigeria
1991 - Egypt
1993 - Ghana
1995 - Cameroon
1997 - Morocco
1999 - Ghana
2001 - Angola
2003 - Egypt
That was after a first half of frenetic activity as neither side was able to move ahead for very long.

Emad opened the scoring for Egypt after just two minutes, but Ivory Coast equalised through a Christian Romaric free kick just six minutes later.

Yaya Toure then put the young Elephants in front on 22 minutes - only to see that effort cancelled out from the penalty spot on the half hour mark by Hamed Fatih.

Four minutes later Egypt went in front again, with Habdel this time easily tapping home.

But as before Ivory Coast equalised quickly, with Michel Saki pouncing on the stroke of half time.

The second half then settled into stalemate in front of an intimidating crowd of Burkinabes, until Emad was able to wrap up the goalfest that he had started in the first half of extra time.
