Milan Zivadinovic has blamed his decision to quit as coach of Ghana on the country's FA.

The Yugoslav told the BBC's 'Network Africa' programme that he was prevented from doing a proper job by Ghanaian FA bosses.

"I was never given a free hand to do my work," he said.

"My contract stated that if I was not satisfied with conditions in the first six months, I could leave."

But Zivadinovic said that he started his job with high hopes.

"I started with a lot of ambition," he said.

"Ghana is a very special football country... it has a lot of good players and fantastic people but there is a lot of bureaucracy.

"I planned three European camps for the players but at the last minute they were cancelled."

His resignation follows similar departures from the Iraqi national manager's post and Saudi Arabian club side Al Nasr, but Zivadinovic was quick to dismiss claims of disloyalty.

"I am a very principled coach," he said.

"I love my work, but if I don't have good conditions for my job it is impossible to do my work."

Zivadinovic added there was no chance of him returning to the job, but was confident that Ghana would qualify for the 2004 Nations Cup.
