Star striker Mohammed Kallon has been given a 21-day ultimatum to buy out the Sierra Leonian club that was renamed after him in 2000.

Officials at Real Republicans SC, who are the owners of the FC Kallon club, have stated that if Kallon fails to take over the club on or before 11 August, it will revert to its original name, Sierra Fisheries, and he would have no more business with them.

The officials have also named their asking price for the club - US$ 50,000, plus 100 pairs of boots, fifty balls, and five sets of black and white jerseys for Republicans.

The decisions were taken after the Republicans owners found out Kallon had sacked three officials at FC Kallon.

The officials refused to go on the grounds that Kallon is not the owner of the club.

Kallon told BBC Sport Online that he relieved the officials of their duties because they were not up to the job.

"I decided to sack the three officials because they are incompetent," Kallon said.

Putting things straight

"I've found perfect replacements."

But also speaking to BBC Sport Online, the Secretary General of Real Republicans, Abu Bakarr Kabba, said their decisions were not aimed at hurting Kallon.

"Enough is enough, we are tired of the confusion in FC Kallon, it is now time for us to put things straight," said Kabba.

"We've been accused by the Real Republicans supporters and players of selling the club to Kallon and then spending the money without telling them, so this is time for action."

The club have had changed of name three times due to sponsorship reasons.

After the collapsed of the club's original sponsors, Sierra Fisheries, their name changed to Tikonko Fisheries.

In 1996, it reverted to Sierra Fisheries and on October 16 2000, the club was renamed after the country's most famous player.
