English premiership side Bolton Wanderers have confirmed they will not be signing Taribo West.

Manager Sam Allardyce told the club's official website that the Nigerian's salary demands had scuppered any chance of a move.

"That is all done and dusted. "He (West) won't be joining the club," Allardyce said.

Allardyce had earlier expressed an interest in re-uniting West with international team-mate Jay Jay Okocha, who has joined the northern English club.

West, released by German side Kaiserslautern before the World Cup, would not have cost Bolton a transfer fee.

He played in two of Nigeria's three World Cup games, but was subsequently criticized by coach Adegboye Onigbinde for being a disruptive influence at the tournament.
