One striker Hoddle is not chasing is Cardiff's Robert Earnshaw - but Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson is. The Welsh club, however, do not want to sell their prize asset. (The Sun)

Another player Ferguson will not be getting is Paris St Germain star Ronaldinho - not unless he raises his bid from 10m to 20m. (Daily Star)

Making room for Morientes/Ricketts/Bent at White Hart Lane is Les Ferdinand. West Brom have joined West Ham in the hunt for the former England man's signature. (Daily Express).

Steve Bruce's spending spree has not finished yet. The Birmingham manager's next target is Slovakian striker Robert Vittek. The 20-year-old, who plays for Slovan Bratislava, would cost around 2.3m. (The Guardian)
