Wales at full strength for Finland
Craig Bellamy in action against Belarus
Craig Bellamy faces a Finland fitness battle
Wales manager Mark Hughes welcomes back Ryan Giggs and Gary Speed for the opening Euro 2004 qualifier in Finland on 7 September.

Newcastle's Craig Bellamy is also included, but the striker faces a race against time to prove his fitness after recently recovering from knee surgery.

Bellamy is unlikely to play a Premiership match before the September 2 clash with Liverpool.

But Hughes will be more than willing to gamble on his fitness in an attempt to get the qualifying campaign off to an encouraging start.

"We have had a good period of preparation, it's gone very well, but now we have to focus our minds on the real job which is about to start," Hughes said.

We are now getting a lot more respect from teams, particularly after the victory over Germany
Wales boss Mark Hughes
Cardiff City trio Robert Earnshaw, Rhys Weston and Daniel Gabbidon have retained their places after promising displays in the 1-1 friendly draw with Croatia on Wednesday.

Their involvement puts the club's Division Two visit to Plymouth Argyle in serious doubt.

Finland were disappointing in their 3-0 mid-week friendly defeat against the Republic of Ireland.

Hughes, though, refuses to read too much into that result.

He said: "Sometimes a result like that for a team brings out a backlash in the next one, so we won't be relaxing in anyway because of the fact that Finland lost at home."

Hughes added: "I also noticed that Italy lost as well, and I'm sure that will cause a bit of concern for them.

"Generally though the results don't mean too much but it is always nice to keep on winning - or at least not losing - because it builds up a momentum.

"We are now getting a lot more respect from teams, particularly after the victory over Germany.

"And I hope sides now look at our performance in Croatia and also feel worried, I hope they do."
