The 33-year-old, who played 10 one-day internationals for England, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal which will keep him at the Rose Bowl until the end of 2004. Udal will be in harness with new Australian captain Shane Warne as Hampshire look to bounce back from last season's Championship relegation. "Things didn't go as well as we'd hoped on the field last season but we're determined to put that right next year and I'm glad to be a part of it," Udal commented. Hampshire have already recruited Surrey seamer Ed Giddins. And they are believed to be close to unveiling their second overseas signing next week, with Australian batsman Simon Katich the prime candidate. |
