Dowman has a day to remember
Dowman hit 71 off just 87 deliveries
Dowman hit 71 off just 87 deliveries
Tour match, Derby, day two of four:
Derbyshire 238 and 112-4 v West Indies A 220

Having earned a narrow first innings lead with a disciplined bowling performance against the tourists, Derbyshire lost four second innings wickets before the close to leave the game finely poised.

A result is almost a certainty now, and if it ends in favour of West Indies A they will have wicket-keeper Keith Hibbert to thank.

The Jamaican hit 83 not out with 16 fours after the tourists had been 68 for four.

Matthew Dowman had a super day with the ball for Derbyshire, taking four for 28 including the Test batsman Daren Ganga.

And he also marshalled West Indies A's slide from 188 for five to 220 all out.

In reply, Dowman found it was also his day with the bat. He hit 71 before falling to Marlon Black in a quick-fire effort at number three.
