Pakistan complete whitewash
5th ODI, Harare: Pakistan 300-7 (50 overs) beat Zimbabwe 230 all out (45.3 overs) by 70 runs

Younis Khan
Younis Khan hit 90 from 75 balls
Younis Khan's extraordinary all-round display led Pakistan to a 70-run win over Zimbabwe in Harare and a 5-0 sweep of the one-day series.

Spinners Saqlain Mushtaq and Shahid Afridi shared five wickets as the hosts, chasing 301 for victory, collapsed from 134 for two at the half-way stage in their innings to 230 all out.

But it was Younis who proved the man of the moment, top-scoring with, running out two Zimbabweans and catching four more

And when temporary captain Inzamam ul-Haq asked him to bowl towards the end, he picked up a wicket with his first delivery.

The victory marked a successful conclusion to the tour for Pakistan, who also won both Test matches.

Pakistan looked in trouble in the 10th over at 39 for three.

But Inzamam-ul Haq turned the momentum back in Pakistan's favour with a patient 27.

And Younis upped the tempo in an innings occupied just 75 balls, with nine fours.

He shared in a 129-run parnership for the fifth wicket with Yousuf Youhana, who contributed 88 before he was run out.

Wasim Akram and Saqlain then added an unbeaten 33 for the eighth wicket in the last 4.1 overs.

Zimbabwe kept pace well in the first 25 overs.

Andy Flower, took just 68 deliveries to hit 72, with six fours and a six, as Zimbabwe chased 301 for victory.

But the former captain, caught by Wasim Akram off Saqlain, was the first of eight wickets to fall in the space of 20 overs.

Younis's day was made complete when he had Travis Friend caught in the covers for six by substitute fielder Taufeeq Umar.

Henry Olonga fought back with the bat, making 31 in a last-wicket stand of 47 with Douglas Hondo.

But, despite Olonga's two fours and three sixes, it was too little too late for the hosts.

The only bad not for Pakistan was that fast bowler Shoaib Ahktar was summoned to a disciplinary hearing after gesturing at the crowd and throwing a bottle of water at a wall near spectators.
