Berqvist soars to victory
Sweden's Kajsa Berqvist
Kajsa Berqvist was well clear of the opposition

Sweden's Kajsa Berqvist destroyed the opposition to claim European gold in the women's high jump in Munich.

Berqvist cleared 1.98m, six centimetres higher than her nearest rival Marina Kuptsova of Russia.

Britain's Susan Jones cleared 1.89m, the same as bronze medal winner Olga Kaliturini.

But the British athlete - one of six athletes to clear 1.89m - ended up seventh on countback.
