| Radcliffe decides against double ![]() Radcliffe won 10,000m gold in Munich on Tuesday Paula Radcliffe has decided not to try to add the 5,000m title to the 10,000m gold she won at the European Athletics Championships. Radcliffe said she had got what she wanted out of the Games and now wants to concentrate on the Chicago Marathon in October. "I think I could have run it but things are going so well I don't want to push it too far. "I've got to think about the Chicago marathon in the autumn."
The 28-year-old will return home on Friday before going to her training base in the French Pyrenees next week. Chicago will be only her second marathon after winning her first attempt over the distance in London. And Radcliffe is determined to maintain her 100% record. "After these championships, I won't run any more races on the track this year," she added. "It is a very big aim to run well in Chicago and I have to train hard to do that. "Anyway, I've achieved my two main aims on the track this season, which were the Commonwealth Games and the European Championships." |
