| Thursday, 18 July, 2002, 23:54 GMT 00:54 UK Greene set for revenge ![]() Greene has twice been beaten by Chambers this year Olympic and world champion Maurice Greene will be looking for revenge when he tackles British rival Dwain Chambers in the 100 metres at the British Grand Prix next month. Chambers beat Greene twice in June but the American will get the chance to reassert his superiority after confirming he will race at the meeting in Crystal Palace on 23 August. Chambers, though, has other ideas. "If things go to plan I could have Commonwealth and European gold by then so it would be the feather in my cap to beat Maurice in my home town," he said. The Briton, who is preparing for the Commonwealth Games which begin on 25 July, beat Greene in Oslo and Sheffield last month. Chambers will also race in the European championships in Munich early next month. World record-holder Greene bounced back by clocking 9.89 seconds, the fastest time in the world this year, in Rome last Friday. Chambers did not take part in the race. | See also: 13 Jul 02 | Athletics 30 Jun 02 | Athletics 28 Jun 02 | Athletics Top Athletics stories now: Links to more Athletics stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
