Don't you know who I am?
The youngsters at Wimbledon's 'Kidzone' were left rather bemused on Thursday by the appearance of a couple of ageing impostors.
"I used to be very famous..." |
Celebrity tennis fan Cliff Richard and showbiz pal Lionel Blair turned up and joined in the fun in a bid to raise the profile of the sport among younger Brits. Their entrance was met by some quizzical looks from the kids, but Blair was not deterred.
He went up to one group and kindly asked "do you know who I am?"
Seeing his audience a little non-plussed, Blair proceeded to demonstrate his world-famous tap-dancing skills.
Not surprisingly, it made little difference.
Bum deal
Sebastien Grosjean may have finished off Tim Henman in quick fashion but the Frenchman was not without his problems.
QUOTE OF THE DAY If people think that I'm not good enough, that's fine. It doesn't bother me Tim Henman has a short answer for his critics |
Asked whether he had picked up a groin injury during the match, he set the questioner straight. "It was more my butt," he said. "My behind."
Thankfully the trainer was not called upon for on-court assistance.

 "Come on Tim" |
Ross Kemp cut a lonely figure in the Royal Box on Thursday. The Ultimate Force star, and former EastEnders hardman, was the only representative from entertainment.
He was joined in the best seats in the house by the likes of HRH Crown Prince of Denmark and his Excellency Mr Khaled Al-Duwaisan GCVO, the Ambassador of Kuwait.
Should have made for some interesting conversations over the afternoon tea and scones.
Surf's up, Scud
Mark Philippoussis again revealed the hippie side to his nature after his dramatic win over Alexander Popp.
The Aussie surf fanatic explained why he has taken to living in California.
"The people are so laid back," he said.
"Whether it be getting something to eat or going to the supermarket or getting a coffee, everyone's so polite.
"No one's materialistic like where I lived in Miami where everything's so what you have, you show it off.
"It's such a nice little surf community."
