Kent's Naomi Cavaday is hoping to make the most of her partnership with fellow Brit Katie O'Brien in the women's doubles at Wimbledon.

The 20-year-old is very unlikely to be handed a lucky loser spot as she is the last player on a list of 12 waiting to hear if they have made the first round.

The Sidcup-born told BBC Sport: "[Katie] is one of the few players I haven't actually played with before.

"It should be interesting, I think we can pair up well."

The British sixth seed, who lost in the last round of Wimbledon qualifying at Roehampton, added: "She pretty solid and I'm pretty aggressive so I think it'll be good, I'm looking forward to it.

"It was quite last minute, when we were put together as a pair, so we haven't really had much time to practice and obviously Katie is focusing on her singles.

"I'm hitting with her later [on Monday] because she's playing a lefty and I'm a lefty so that kind of helps out but we get on great and I'm sure we'll be able to communicate well enough on court.

Cavaday, who lost to Venus Williams in the first round of last year's singles, had a five-month spell out of the game at the end of 2008 due to an illness.

And she is pleased to be back playing again.

"I've had a brilliant grass-court season this year so I'm happy so far."
