Ginepri enjoyed a stunning year in 2003, meaning he is seeded on only his second appearance at the Australian Open. One of a group of young Americans threatening to break into the top 10, Ginepri shone on hardcourts last Spring when he reached the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells and Miami Masters.
He looked set to complete the grass season without a win following three straight defeats in Britain, but on his return to his home country he promptly won the Newport grasscourt event - his first ATP title.
It is at home that Ginepri clearly feels most comfortable, and he proved it with another Masters quarter-final, this time in Cincinnati.
Ginepri, who vied with Andy Roddick in the juniors, is yet to prove he can be as effective on foreign soil and his best Grand Slam performance so far was at the US Open last season when he reached the third round.
However, he did make history at Wimbledon - becoming the first male player ever to wear a sleeveless shirt.
