Last season saw the powerful Spaniard continue his impressive resurgence from a career-threatening back injury. He won titles in Buenos Aires, Barcelona and Umag, reached finals in Miami and Vienna, and led Spain to the final of the Davis Cup.
The highlight of the 27-year-old's career remains his triumph at the French Open in 1998.
He sat at the top of the world rankings for two weeks the following year before two years of back problems followed.
Moya re-established himself as a major force in the game in 2002, winning four ATP titles and returning to the world's top 10.
And in November's Davis Cup final, playing his first match on grass for over three years, he beat Wimbledon finalist Mark Philippoussis in four sets - a stunning victory despite Spain's eventual defeat.
The popular Spaniard has happy memories of Melbourne - he reached the Australian Open final in 1997 before being brushed aside by an imperious Pete Sampras.
