Tennis youngster Kyle Edmund from Tickton near Hull has reached the quarter-finals of the Yucatan World Cup in Mexico. The 15-year-old Yorkshire player beat 12th seen Robert Kern of Germany 7-5, 7-5 to set up a meeting with Austria's Dennis Novak. Great Britain Junior Tennis manager Martin Weston said: "Kyle played superbly again. A mature performance." He will be joined in the last eight by fellow Briton George Morgan. Bolton-based Morgan thrashed 10th seed Nikola Milojevic of Serbia 6-1, 6-2 to progress in the competition where he will play Dominic Thiem of Austria. Home favourite Luis Patino had the better of the match with British number one Oli Golding, from Richmond-on-Thames, by dominating their encounter 6-0, 6-3.
