Tennis star Heather Watson has won the Guernsey Sports Commission Trophy for outstanding performance. The 17-year-old was honoured at the Guernsey Sports Commission Achievement Awards for winning the US Open girls' singles title in September. Watson is currently preparing for the Australian Open girls' singles, and the award was picked up by her father Ian. Cricketer Jeremy Frith won the Richard Burton Salver for outstanding individual sporting achievement. Frith was awarded the 'man of the tournament' accolade at successive ICC World Cricket League tournaments.
