Skupski (r) and his partner Flemming hope to play a part in the Davis Cup tie
Liverpool's Ken Skupski hopes the Merseyside public will embrace the Davis Cup when Great Britain take on Poland at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
The event starts on Friday 16 September and continues over the weekend.
"If we can get everyone from Liverpool here to support the team, anything is possible," Skupski told BBC Radio Merseyside ahead of the tie.
"This tie is crucial. If we can get a win, that would be fantastic and we can keep progressing into the world group."
Skupski and his doubles partner Colin Fleming have made great strides over the past 12 months and their form has seen them beat United States brothers and world number one's Mike and Bob Bryan.
The British pair hope to play during Saturday's doubles match but will face tough competition from the other members of the squad in Andy Murray, Ross Hutchins, James Ward and youngster Dan Evans.
But Skupski hopes the form he and his partner have shown will continue into the Davis Cup tie and also future events.
"Its been great as Colin and I have had a great year," Skupski continued. "Hopefully we can build on that this week and into the next couple of weeks.
"We're playing a tour event next week, which is big for us. But more important for us is this week at the moment."
