Vaughan signed professional terms with Everton in 2005
Derby County have signed Everton striker James Vaughan on a three-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old, who has made 49 appearances for his parent club, scoring seven goals, will remain at Pride Park until January 2010.
"This is terrific business - James is a good player with an excellent attitude and tons of ability," Derby boss Nigel Clough told their website.
Vaughan is eligible for the Rams' game with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The England Under-21 international made his Everton debut against Palace in April 2005 at the age of 16 years and 271 days, becoming the club's youngest debutant.
He also became the Premier League's youngest ever scorer following his goal in the Toffees' 4-0 win.
But his club appearance record was broken by Jose Baxter, who was 80 days younger than Vaughan when he played against Blackburn in August 2008.
