Former Ospreys boss Lyn Jones has joined Welsh Premiership club Ebbw Vale as a consultant until the end of the 2008-09 season. A club statement read: "The number of young players Lyn has brought through to Welsh Test level is unparalleled. "He's the most successful Welsh regional coach of the last few years." Jones said: "Ebbw Vale have players of true regional potential in James and Robert Lewis and a crop of potential Under 20 internationals." The Steelmen's statement continued: "For the rest of the season, Lyn will provide consultancy services aimed to help our players and coaches grow and develop.  | 606: DEBATE | "He has a proven track record of delivering against these goals as his success with the Ospreys clearly demonstrates. "He took the Ospreys to two Magners League titles and an EDF Cup final victory. "The club considers itself extremely fortunate to have acquired the services of someone with Lyn Jones' experience. "It will be a massive boost for our players and to our new backs coach Matthew McCarthy, who are all looking forward to working with Lyn." Jones added: "Ebbw Vale have always had a reputation as a footballing side and have some exciting young talent. "I will be looking to develop Aaron Coundley, Dai Langdon, James Thomas, Rhys Jenkins and Ieuan Coombes to enhance their claims for inclusion in Phil Davies' Wales Under 20 squad. "I am really looking forward to meeting the rest of the squad, helping to develop them as individuals and getting on with the challenge of helping the team contest at the top of the Premiership table."
