Jones brought two league titles and the EDF Energy Cup to the Ospreys |
Dragons coach Paul Turner says he would have no problem with Lyn Jones' possible appointment as head coach at regional feeder club Ebbw Vale. "I would be delighted and I am sure we could work together because we get on well," said Turner. Jones has been linked with the job, having left the Ospreys last May. The position at the Steelmen has come up for the second time in three months after Will Thomas left to become the Dragons' performance development boss. | 606: DEBATE | Llanelli RFC coach Kevin George also left his position to take up a similar role at the Scarlets. Backs coach Paul Fisher will assume a more senior job with Llanelli, assisted by new forwards coach Vernon Cooper, the Scarlets second row. Higher profile names have been linked with the Steelmen's job, including Gareth Llewellyn, currently cutting his coaching teeth at Tonmawr. Former Neath coach Lyn Jones was in charge of the Ospreys since their inception in 2003, leading them to two Celtic League titles and last season's EDF Energy Cup. | I am still a bit miffed about why Lyn lost his job with the Ospreys Dragons coach Paul Turner | "If it transpired that Lyn became involved with Ebbw Vale I would have no problems with that," said Turner. "I am still a bit miffed about why he lost his job with the Ospreys and it would be good to have someone with that experience around. "Ebbw Vale are one of the five major clubs that supply us with players and we need to keep an eye on the situation. "I have known through most of the summer what is going on and I have spoken to Ebbw Vale in a regular basis. "Will has just left to take up a role within the organisation so I look forward to carrying on working with him. "We are really trying to promote the Dragons throughout the region. We are in a unique position where we have five Premiership clubs within our region so it is hard to try and keep everyone happy."
