Chris Pennell back to captain Worcester against Pirates
Pennell returns after breaking his leg in a pre-season match
Chris Pennell will captain Worcester Warriors for the first time in a competitive match when they take on Cornish Pirates at Sixways.
Pennell has missed the bulk of the season due to a serious leg injury but returned to action last weekend.
Greg Rawlinson will start alongside Chris Fortey in the second row while Adam Balding replaces Kai Horstmann.
Worcester must win the Pool A game to secure a last-eight place, and have been boosted by the return of Pennell.
The dynamic full-back made his playing return against local rivals Birmingham and Solihull last weekend.
"Chris Pennell came back last week against Birmingham and came through really well," Warriors head coach Richard Hill told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"Against Birmingham he didn't take the captaincy as he just wanted to concentrate on the game, but now he feels right to take over.
"Kai Horstmann has an injury so won't be available but he has done a terrific job as captain this season.
"But Chris is our skipper and for him and everyone else connected with the club it will be tremendous when he runs out at the front for the first time."
There will be full commentary on the Warriors against Cornish Pirates on 104 FM and online with BBC Hereford and Worcester.
