Carlisle will be at Sixways until 2013 |
Worcester Warriors fly-half Joe Carlisle has signed a new two-year deal at the Sixways club. Last week, Carlisle, 23, made his 50th appearance for the Warriors against Birmingham & Solihull, and has amassed 265 points during his career. "There is no doubt Joe will get even better," said head coach Richard Hill. "He is one of the most talented outside halves that I've ever seen. He will be, in the very near future, the player we know he can be. He has it all." The Warriors Academy product made his league debut in 2008 before coming off the bench in the European Challenge Cup final against Bath Rugby at Kingsholm. Carlisle has established himself in the senior side this season in the Championship and made 23 league and cup appearances, including a stunning 28-point haul against Newport in the British & Irish Cup. Richard Hill believes the young fly-half has benefitted from working alongside the experienced Andy Goode. "He is learning how to manage a game depending on circumstance and position, and that will come from playing every week and listening to people like Andy Goode," said Hill. "Andy can manage a game and makes the right decisions; clearly, Joe is learning a great deal from working with him."
