Full-back dilemma for Worcester Warriors - Richard Hill

Richard Hill

Worcester Warriors head coach Richard Hill says he does not know who his best full-back is at the moment.

With Chris Pennell out injured, Hill has switched between Tom Arscott, Willie Walker and Joe Carlisle.

"It's a dilemma for me at the moment picking a full-back," Hill told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It is a tricky one but hopefully Chris Pennell will be back in six weeks' time. If he is back he will claim his rightful place at full-back."

Carlisle started at full-back against Moseley in the last Championship game, before Arscott came on to score a try.

If you have a full-back who can play at 10 you can interchange between them and it will take pressure off Andy Goode

But Hill says he is considering giving Carlisle a run at full back.

"Looking at play off time that cultured left boot of his is useful," he said.

"When it's a bit drier his strength is to step up to first receiver.

"If you have a full-back who can play at 10 you can interchange between them and it will take pressure off Andy Goode.

"When we come to the play-offs we won't be playing with too much fancy rugby. We will be looking to play a bit of territory, to have a right foot and left foot kicker is a massive bonus for the team."
