Powell says younger players need time on the pitch

Worcester Warriors will again rest key players against Montpellier in the European Challenge Cup and give younger players some valuable match experience.

Warriors skills coach Matt Powell told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "Pat Sanderson, Tom Wood and Greg Rawlinson needed some rest [against Madrid].

"We felt it was good for Sam Tuitupou and Alex Grove to get a game and there will be guys who need another game.

"It's a long way to go in the middle of the season without a game."

Powell hinted that youngsters like Matt Cox and Jake Abbot who starred against Madrid could stay in the line-up against Montpellier.

"It will be a bit of a mixture - there are guys who deserve a place and hopefully they can back up the performance against Madrid."
