Wasps game is target for Benjamin

Worcester Warriors wing Miles Benjamin hopes to be back in first team contention by the end of February.

Benjamin fractured the fibula in his left leg in the European Challenge Cup tie at Bourgoin in December.

But he told BBC Hereford and Worcester he is targeting the visit of Wasps on 28 February for a first team return.

"I am looking at the Wasps game," he said. "At the moment I am confident I can be back to full fitness, but it will depend what the physios say."

Benjamin suffered the same injury at the Middlesex Sevens in August 2006.

Although Marcel Garvey is set to return to the Warriors squad against Sale this Saturday (31 January, 1500 GMT), director of rugby Mike Ruddock has not ruled out a loan deal to bring another winger in.

On top of of the absence of Benjamin and Garvey, Chris Pennell (along with centre Sam Tuitupou) is now out for the rest of the season with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

There will be full commentary on Warriors v Sale Sharks on BBC Hereford and Worcester on 104 Fm and on line.
