Henson relishing return to rugby
Gavin Henson says he is "feeling great" ahead of his expected Boxing Day comeback for Saracens and hopes to force his way into the Wales team.
Henson, 28, is eager to start the game against Wasps at Wembley. "I might be on the bench, I might start," he said.
"The bigger picture for me is the Six Nations, The sooner I start, the better chance I have of getting in that team.
"I just hope I get the chance to play this weekend."
The Wales centre was signed by Saracens in October, but has been unable to make his return because of his involvement with the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
Henson joked that his appearances on the show could benefit his rugby career.
He said: "It's put a bit of discipline back in my life. I've been training for six to seven hours a day [for the show], so going back to rugby for two-three hours a day is easy now. It was a good thing for me to do but I'm excited about rugby now and I just can't wait to play."
Henson believes he has a chance of being included by Wales coach Warren Gatland's in his Six Nations squad if he can get match fit with Saracens.
"I'm just trying to impress in training. Fitness-wise hopefully I'll be all right, the body feels great - I just need to perform on the pitch now."
Henson was not sure where he would be asked to play, but hoped to be picked in his strongest position at No 12.
"Twelve is my better position so hopefully I get a run there," he said. "The No 10s at Saracen are really good. I think in time I could move to 10 if they wanted me to go there, but to start off with I think 12 would be easier for me.
"Saracens are a great club and there's no need for me to go anywhere else now."
Henson was on unpaid leave before his protracted move from Ospreys to Saracens, meaning he has not played rugby for 21 months.
He last featured for Wales in the 2009 Six Nations defeat to Ireland.
