Henson has 31 caps for Wales |
Saracens centre Gavin Henson says he is three to four weeks away from being fit enough to feature for his new side. The 28-year-old, who signed for Sarries last month from Ospreys, has not played for 18 months after taking unpaid leave from the Welsh club. Henson, who can also play at fly-half and full-back, told Sarries TV: "I've got to be a little bit patient. "I'm probably about three or four weeks off playing. I just can't wait to be out there with them one day." Regardless of match fitness the Wales international's return to action could be delayed by his involvement in the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing programme. | That was the first game of rugby I've watched for 18 months, I enjoyed it, it looks like nothing much has changed |
Should Henson make the final of the show he would be unavailable until after Christmas. Despite his commitment to the show, Henson was in the stands for Saracens' 22-22 LV= Cup draw with Northampton Saints. "That was the first game of rugby I've watched for 18 months, I enjoyed it, it looks like nothing much has changed," he added. "I think the boys did quite well, it was a bit of a mixed team, there were a lot of new players. "Everyone seems pretty pleased with the performance."
