Hougaard was stretchered off after 46 minutes at Wembley |
Saracens fly-half Derick Hougaard is set to miss most of the season after rupturing an Achilles tendon. The 27-year-old South African was stretchered off in his side's 25-23 Heineken Cup defeat by Leinster at Wembley on Saturday. Hougaard, who has scored 73 points this season, will undergo surgery on Monday. A club statement said: "The injury will see him ruled out for a number of months. A further update will be available following the surgery." Alex Goode is likely to step up his transition from full-back to fly-half in order to cover for his injured team-mate.
