Sale are out of the European Challenge Cup despite a second rout of Petrarca.

Chris Brightwell, Neil McMillan, Rob Miller, who also added three first-half conversions, and Nick Macleod touched down as Sale led 26-0 at the break.

Henry Thomas, Will Cliff, Matthew Tait and Jason Kennedy added further converted tries, while Petrarca had Costa Repetto sent off late on.

It was not enough as Pool Two leaders Brive's 52-3 victory over Cetransa El Salvador confirmed Sale's elimination.

Sale travel to Spain to play Cetransa in their final pool fixture next Saturday.
