Jones succeeded Philippe Saint-Andre as the Sharks' director of rugby |
Sale director of rugby Kingsley Jones believes their matches at Edgeley Park will hold the key to hopes of progressing in the Heineken Cup. The Sharks have been drawn with Cardiff, Harlequins and three-times champions Toulouse in Pool Five. Jones told BBC Radio Manchester: "Toulouse are a great side but they won't relish coming to Edgeley Park just like the others won't. "We can beat these sides at home but they can also win home and away." "You can be measured by your success in the Heineken Cup and it's a great tournament," he added. | It's going to be very close with the number of points because I believe every team in this group is capable of beating the others |
"We've got to learn from the mistakes we've made in the past - slipping up in silly games we should have won has cost us vital points. "It's going to be very close with the number of points because I believe every team in this group is capable of beating the others so we'll see what the outcome is." Meanwhile Sharks pair Michael Hills and Joe Horn-Smith have joined Championship side London Welsh. Former England Under-21 international flanker Hills, 23, made 24 appearances for Sale while Horn-smith, 27, joined the Guinness Premiership side from Exeter in February.
