Sale Sharks have signed Fijian back row Sisa Koyamaibole from French side Toulon on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old, who normally plays at number eight, joined Toulon from Italian side Petrarca and has won 38 caps, playing in two World Cups.

Director of Rugby Kingsley Jones said: "Sisa is a gifted athlete who - at 6ft 4ins - is very mobile around the field.

"He has excellent discipline and I am sure he will become a favourite with the Sale Sharks supporters."

Chief executive James Jennings added: "Sisa is a very talented and powerful rugby player.

"I am sure that he has the potential to become one of the leading players in the Guinness Premiership and that he will have a huge impact at Sale Sharks."

Koyamaibole's previous club Toulon are now coached by ex-Sale boss Philippe Saint-Andre.
