Sale aims stay the same - Jones

Sale

Sale forward Chris Jones has underlined the Sharks' goals for the new season.

The 27-year-old completed a successful Churchill Cup campaign for England Saxons after playing in all three matches in Canada and the USA.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "We set ourselves two goals at Sale last season - to win some silverware and to finish in the top four.

"The goals for this season have not changed, same again - though particularly a top-four finish."

He added: "Though we failed to achieve our goals last year, at least we still managed to qualify for the Heineken Cup."

Last season proved testing for Jones after suffering from a spate of injuries which ruled him out for long periods, something he is keen to overcome in the next campaign.

"I had a bad run of injuries but hopefully they are all behind me now."
