Northampton Saints have signed Leinster tight-head prop Ben Prescott until the end of the season. The Libyan-born 32-year-old only moved to the Irish province in September from Nottingham, whom he joined just four months earlier from Rotherham. "Having Ben in the squad will provide cover in a position where you can never have too many players," said Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder. "He has shown his quality consistently at Championship level." He added: "We have a lot of games coming up and I'm sure that Ben's experience will come in useful." | I've played in the Magners League but not in the Premiership and it's something I want to experience Northampton prop Ben Prescott |
Prescott made just one Magners League appearance for Leinster and played twice in the British & Irish Cup. The former Glasgow Warriors player added: "I've only played against Northampton in pre-season for Nottingham, but I know about the club and the standards that the club has. "I'd like to get into the squad and get some game time in the Premiership. "I've played in the Magners League but not in the Premiership and it's something I want to experience, and there's no better club to come to than Northampton to give it a shot."
