Northampton Saints players to stay calm - Jim Mallinder

Northampton Saints boss Jim Mallinder says he will not let his England players get carried away.

Chris Ashton, Courtney Lawes, Dylan Hartley and Ben Foden have picked up the plaudits for their contribution to England's 35-18 win over Australia.

Mallinder told BBC Radio Northampton: "We enjoy being a part of their success and we're really happy.

"But we'll need them to become level headed again, and we'll need them on top form - if they make the team."

Mallinder says that it is difficult to lose players to international duty. He also knows there may well be more call-ups to come, prior to the World Cup in 2011, with a host of Saints players in contention.

"You dread the phone call [from England] sometimes," said Mallinder.

"The England coaches are watching all the time and if there are players out of form or injuries, then I don't think ours are far off."

Northampton Saints play Sale Sharks on Friday and London Irish seven days later before their international players return to Franklin's Gardens.
