Long-serving former Northants spinner Vince Broderick has died aged 90. The Lancashire-born player made his debut for the county in 1939 and went on to play 245 first-class games for Northants until retiring in 1957. Broderick then captained the club's second team before becoming cricket professional at Winchester College. He claimed 530 wickets, scored over 7,000 runs and appeared in two Test trials in the 1940s without ever gaining England honours.
