Geraghty delighted with tough win

Northampton Saints' Shane Geraghty says that his side "sneaked" victory in the 20-17 win over Worcester.

The fly-half kicked two penalties and a conversion in the Premiership opener.

"The game wasn't going as planned. We just about made it with a good team performance in the last 20 minutes," Geraghty told BBC Radio Northampton.

"We kept going to the last minute and sneaked a victory which we're delighted with. But mentally, we've got to prepare better for next week."

Going into the Guinness Premiership opener, Saints had won four out of five pre-season friendlies, including a 42-9 victory against Cardiff Blues.

"It probably didn't do us any favours playing so well before the start of the season.

"But [beating Worcester] is a good result. There's no easy games and it showed what a tough season it's going to be," Geraghty added.
