West wants Saints to make it eight league victories at home this season |
Northampton forwards coach Dorian West thinks Carlos Spencer will have points to make when Gloucester visit Franklin's Gardens on Saturday. The former All Blacks fly-half could feature against the Saints, after leaving the club for Kingsholm earlier this year. "Carlos will be out to prove that he's worth a place in Gloucester's side," West told BBC Radio Northampton. "That's in addition to what he'll be trying to do to us," he added. "Gloucester have just signed (fly-half) Nicky Robinson (from Cardiff Blues) and they have Ryan Lamb still under contract., so Carlos obviously has a lot to play for." Northampton have won seven of their nine home matches in the Guinness Premiership this season, but West insisted there would be no complacency against the side currently fourth in the table. "It's important we don't just rely on that home form and take it for granted," he said. "We need to prepare properly and make sure everyone is up for it."
