Former Bradford Bulls winger Rikki Sheriffe has switched codes to join Newcastle Falcons. The 26-year-old, who was a free agent after leaving the Bulls at the end of the last Super League season, has agreed a two-year deal. Sheriffe told the club website: "Falcons are an ambitious club and I'm delighted to get the opportunity to move up here. "I'm focused on getting myself fully fit and hope I can take my chance." Sheriffe, who has also had spells with Halifax and Harlequins, scored 33 tries in 94 Super League appearances. The Bradford-born player joins former Leeds Rhinos winger Danny Williams, and coaches Alan Tait and Paul Moriarty among the league alumni at Kingston Park. | He's an awesome try-scorer, and although it's a different sport you can't take that off people, that pace and power Falcons head coach Alan Tait |
"You look at the top guys like [Chris] Ashton and see what he's doing, they naturally follow the ball," Falcons head coach Tait told BBC Newcastle. "I'm excited about getting Rikki on board and I think he'll be a good addition to the squad. "He's an awesome try-scorer, and although it's a different sport you can't take that off people, that pace and power. "His try-scoring ability is his main trait, I want to improve our attack and I think another natural finisher will help us get there.
