Sheriffe is returning to his home-town club |
Bradford have won the chase to sign Harlequins winger Rikki Sheriffe on a two-year deal. The 24-year-old, whose younger brother Jode is already on the Bulls' books, joined Quins from Huddersfield in 2005 but was born in Bradford. "As a kid I always wanted to go on and play for the Bulls," said Sheriffe. "A couple of other top-six sides were keen and Quins wanted to keep me, but I only ever wanted to come here. There was no choice for me once I knew." Bulls coach Steve McNamara said he felt Sherrife's best form was yet to come. "He's not the finished product yet but is an excellent dummy half runner which is something we have been short of this year," he said. "When you look at his stats he has some of the best offensive numbers around. "I thought Rikki was outstanding in the first half of the year and was on the verge of an England call-up and only injury prevented that, but he certainly has the potential to play internationally."
