Fielden delighted by Falcons deal Newcastle Falcons wing Luke Fielden has signed a new two-year contract at Kingston Park. Fielden, 25, has scored six tries since arriving at Falcons on a one-year deal from Bedford in the summer, and has impressed coach Alan Tait. "I'm really excited and chuffed, I'd been in negotiations for a fair while," Fielden told BBC Look North. "It's a really good club and a really good group of boys. We're moving in the right direction." He added: "Having re-signed now I can relax and concentrate on what goes on the pitch, that's all sorted. "I know where I'm going to be now for the next two years of my life and I can just get on with it and work hard." | Now I can just get on with it and work hard |
Falcons take on Exeter in the LV= Cup on Sunday, top of Pool One despite losing two of their three group matches so far. "For us it's worked out pretty well, we're top, and if we win this on Sunday then we're in a semi-final, which is huge," Fielden added. "It would be great for the club and the boys, it's something that we're aiming for and really want. "We're going to be going out on Sunday, giving it our all to get that semi-final place."
