Newcastle Falcons have signed England Sevens centre Rob Vickerman on a two-year deal from Leeds Carnegie. The 23-year-old joins Tom Biggs in signing from Carnegie, whom he helped to promotion from National One this season with 10 tries in 11 starts. Falcons director of rugby Steve Bates said: "Rob is rated as one of the top young centres in the country. "He is a strong physical presence who has great ability, and will be a welcome addition to our squad." Vickerman has made 43 starts for the Yorkshiremen, as well as representing England at Under-16, 19 and Sevens levels, including this year's IRB Sevens victory in New Zealand. Vickerman becomes the seventh new player to join the Falcons this summer, following the previously-announced arrivals of Jimmy Gopperth, Biggs, James Hudson, Charlie Amesbury, Josh Afu and Filipo Levi.
